Except for Timo on the first image, why are the girls using a left-handed stance for pounding the mochi?

This is what I'm my thoughts are:

First image, Tomomi's right side has covered her, so the picture wasn't that great. Hence the second picture taken and looked better

The table behind them is blocking the cameraman from taking the picture. If the table wasn't there and the cameraman's standing there, it would have been a right-handed stance.

To me, the correct left-handed stance would have the right foot out instead of left. I'm a lefty, that's how I would do it.
