Okay. So I've been very bored this past few days. Like really really REALLY bored so I've been playing videos over and over again. Boredom really makes you notice a lot of things you didn't notice the first time. And in this particular video around 23:15. 




I've noticed Haru (Like a boss) calmly and subtly telling Tomomi to hide the Pocari Sweat she was holding. It was really fun to watch how calmly they handled the situation. Very Pro! Though  I didn't understand why Tomomi had to hide the bottle. And I was just wondering, didn't they endorsed the brand around 2009? (i'm not sure) If so, wouldn't that make it okay for them to openly be seen with the product?


Anyways, I do have some formulated answers of my own. But I was just thinking and since I'm bored, why not ask others who might be more knowledgeable than me.   I'm just really bored and if someone does reply, I'd be really grateful! Arigatou!


(btw, it's been fun learning a lot of new things each day about SCANDAL. Thank you min-na! )

I am! I really am bored. I didn't think I would sink this low. lol I'm currently in transition. Actually, SH has really helped lessen the boredom a bit.

I don't know anything about Japan but just because they once advertised the brand doesn't mean they still have a contract with them. It's about not giving them free publicity, at least that's how I see it.

and so i watched the video and noticed that one too..haru even say 'tomo' with the tune of (keep that)

hmm..maybe their contract as pocari's endorser is already finished..and now im puzzled.stars.

Yep2! It's one of the possibilities I've come to conclude too.. that maybe their contract has expired.. it was just fun to watch how they handled it.. It was just a cute moment how you can see Haru looking out for the band... I think if I wasn't bored, I probably wouldn't have noticed it. LOL

My theory based from experience with production/advertising, its highly possible that one of major sponsor of that event is a direct competitor of Pocari. Also obviously as sponsor they should provide the girls with their product for them to endorse, but maybe TOMOMI just really loves Pocari. And so if the audience sees her with Pocari then they would buy it instead of the other one. Hence the hide-that-drink-gesture of HARUNA.

I'm actually amazed that you noticed that. I've watched this video probably 5 times and never saw that at all until now.

It always makes me a little uncomfortable to see just how many endorsement deals Japanese bands have, because it obviously affects the way they present themselves to the public. This is a little slip-up that lets us see that, it's like peeling back the curtain a little bit.

I was at the height of my boredom... Boredom has a strange effect on me... and I like dissecting stuff especially in videos! LOL 

Yeah, it's one of the reasons why I was so fascinated by this scene. It's like your seeing them in a different light. You get to see that artists really do have to be really mindful of their actions whenever they are being filmed. It's really quite interesting, another facet of being famous.

Me too. I have already watched it several times already but never really knew this 'mystery', much less Tomo drinking a Pocari Sweat at the end, until now haha

 well there is one.. although it's not really a mystery but more of an event.. It's from the NHK Documentary... During the part where they surprise MAMI with a cake.. I noticed that RINA kissed Mami's cheek!!  I'm not actually 100% sure, it's either she kissed Mami's cheek or whispered something to her... But my bet is the first one. It definitely looked like a kiss to me... LOL It happened right before Eisuke brought the cake to Mami.. 

Btw, I was really surprised to see that... I've been following KPOP before and skinship is like a natural thing there and with Scandal not so much(as far as the vids I've seen)...haha and I was surprised and was really glad to see another side to them! hehe

Me too.. I had to rewind it to see if I was not hallucinating or anything.. LOL 

I'm just glad I could contribute something that's a bit interesting.. .smile.   When I first noticed it, I also played it again and when I was really sure of what was happening.. I couldn't help but smile.. it made me happy to see how the girls are constantly looking out for each other... Timo's shy smile and Haru just casually answering the question as if nothing happened, It's an effective way to distract people from noticing!
