Speaking as a person who was born and raised in the Southeastern part of the USA, I have to say that toriten sounds amazing. In this part of the world, we appreciate fried chicken in every possible form it can take.

Edit: I'm assuming that the mustard mentioned in the Wikipedia article is the nose-clearing, spicy, Chinese style mustard, not the ubiquitous yellow stuff found on hotdogs across the USA. If so, a dipping sauce of ponzu and spicy mustard sounds ridiculous.

I had toriten when I went to Oita/Beppu and it's definitely the best fried chicken I've ever had.

Technically, they mention that it's a ponzu sauce with mustard, not just straight-up mustard. It's called "toriten tare sauce." What it is is a thin, brown sauce that's a little lighter in color than soy sauce but with the same watery consistency. I don't think I remember tasting mustard in it, though, so it's probably only in it sparingly.

There's a restaurant down the street from my office that is a Korean/Southern US fusion place. The two owners are a guy from here in the South and a woman from South Korea. I've eaten there several times, and my favorite thing I get is their version of pork tonkatsu. It comes with a dipping sauce that is something like ponzu with a dollop of peach marmalade and another dollop of Chinese style mustard. It's ridiculously good, so I was wondering if the sauce mentioned in the article were similar.

This restaurant was actually on Bizarre Foods America when Zimmern came to Atlanta last year.

Now I want to find a good recipe for toriten and try to make it myself.

How come Haru and Tomo only have buckets but Rina has a foot massager...unfair !
