Fukuoka KBC (the station that airs the program in the video) is using SCANDAL's one piece as their image song for this year's national highschool baseball tournament, hence the BGM.

Wow, how unexpected (and generous) of the girls to preview some tracks for listeners. Personally, I'm very please with what I'm hearing so far. Some killer hooks in some of the song. The arrangements are interesting, there's some really poppy vibes here and there but their setup sounds rougher than TB.

Haru is right, this album is the next step up for them.

I'm glad I preordered this album now It's new and shiny and different but still SCANDAL.

However, there are enough differences here that not everyone is going to like this. This album will polarise their fans for sure, especially those who want BEST SCANDAL 2 instead of experimentation. But I really hope that the new, hooky sound will attract more fans. They deserve to be successful so very, very much.

Lookin forward to the rest of the album.

Edit: One Piece sounds particularly good. I love the intro and it's got this arm waving, stadium anthem feel to it.

One Piece sounds so touching... but yeah, this kind of music is really different from DOLL or Shoujo S. They're growing up, they're changing... Fans will be proud of them :D

A rough translation of Rina's explanation for one piece from the video:

"Up until now I've written several songs that tells about our dreams for the future, but never one that's about when we achieved those dreams. So I wrote the lyrics for the song based on the thoughts of us in the future when we have achieved our dreams. And I hope the listeners would listen to the song while imagining what they'd see once they achieved their dreams."

Just listened to all the available radio rips of BABY ACTION songs, and I found myself saying "WHAT?!?!" The songs are so different from their previous songs, the girls really experimented in this one. It's not that I don't like it, I'm just shocked (and I'm still high on Harry Potter at the moment haha). Though I already love TOKYO SKYSCRAPER on first listen.
