lol i prefer buying from CDjapan as well, but i think for now only HMV has it.
i'm waiting for CDJapan to stock up on it as well before i finally order the book .balloon.

it's release on 10/12, right? Then I'll wait up until the last week before ordering, hoping CDJapan will carry it soon. I hope it's not a HMV exclusive.
CDJapan had been slow to offer BABY ACTION bandscore as well... I just hope that's all there is to it...

Availability to different retailers will depends on the vendor. If they feel that this retailer is able to push more sales, then they will pass the books for them to sell.
Meanwhile, for those who has twitter, you guys can tweet CDJapan, their customer service is top notch, you should be able to get an answer from them.

I don't "hawk", just sent 1 email to CDJapan.co.jp on Saturday. I hope they reply soon within the week. If I can't get any confirmation by October 2011, I'll just have to pre-order from HMV Japan, cuz I don't want to miss out if it's sold-out.

I think the main issue is the book seems to be published by HMV (or that's what it seems to me), so HMV might not be distributing them to other retailers yet.

After reading about reasons why it's HMV exclusive, and contemplating on whether CDJapan will ever sell it, and the very idea it's might be sold out soon, I did a pre-emptive strike and ordered from HMV.co.jp
I don't like dealing with them, but shouganai, I want it.

Finally I got the reply from CDJapan
Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to
make it available at CDJapan.
A publisher named enterbrain will be publishing it,
and they provided information about this book only
to a few selective shops, unfortunately including HMV.
Sometimes, publishers intentionally do that as it's
easier for them to supply their products only to
a few shops.
At this point, it looks like they will be using all
copies they publish to fulfill orders from them.
If they have copies left after it's published,
they might be able to make some of it available,
but it's uncertain if that's going to happen or nor.

Nobody is saying HMV Japan are bad, it is just many members like me have been buying from CDJapan for years and it feels disloyal to go anywhere else.
They also have many special offers and loyalty points.

for me, I ordered twice from HMV in the past, and while I already paid for my orders including the Shipping fees, when the product actually ships, they first sent me an email about additional shipping charges and that I need to agree to them before they can ship. During those time, I didn't check my email everyday, probably once or twice a week, so it would be a little late...
Even though HMV did warn that shipping fees may change and additional charges MAY apply , I never had this problem with CDJapan or YesAsia.com.
