It is a Gibson and it's conveniently listed in the first post of this thread under the "Not Used Anymore/Used Rarely" spoiler tag. We haven't heard anything about it in a long, long time, so it looks like MAMI simply just retired it.

However, it does seem that RINA used it in a photoshoot in 2012 purely for aesthetic reasons for a picture to put on their annual SCANDAL SHOP-limited t-shirts.

She may have tweaked it just for that concert since they were playing older songs and probably wanted to recreate sounds she no longer uses on the newer songs.  Whatever it may be, good eye catching the difference.  I don't even notice my own pedal board changes.

I've updated the first post of this thread.

I checked the picture again and interested to see Mami use wireless system for her guitar this time. Probably Haru & Timo go wireless as well. That seems like a Shure or Sony unit. Obviously not Line 6.
It's been quite a while they go with cables even for larger venues.

MAMI's pedal board seems a bit leaner now, thanks to the LINE6 MD9 (probably). And goodbye MM4 / hello BOSS MD500 (check it out - https://youtu.be/8Ub0POv2bco ) eh. Looking at how they are set up, and in comparison to her previous rig, the second photo is likely the one that Motchy (her tech) controls when she plays live.

She used to have heaps of fuzz and boosters. Looks like the MK4.23 clean boost does the job best for her, I guess.

I have to say she has defo gone for an upgrade if that Bogner is her regular amp now. Every ECSTASY head is hand-wired by Reinhold Bogner himself and these babies cost a bomb.

The Bogner Ecstasy is an amazing amp... it seems like Mami is in her "Heavy Metal" mode  .punches.

I'm now trying to make my own "Stratocaster HSS Black/MAMI MODEL" circle painted one with Fender American Standard Strato HSS as a basement model, so that the sound should be closest to the MAMI's original model.

To make the sound closest as much as possible, I'm also looking for the info about which pickups she is actually installed on her model. As far as I've investigated on the web, I could only get the info that they were replaced from original Strato HSS pickups to just "BLACK" ones...

Does anyone here have much more detailed info about the pickups she's using? (Brand, model, etc.)



By the way,  I'm new to join SCANDAL HEAVEN and not sure that here is the appropriate thread to ask about this topic... If there's more better place other than here, please let me know.

Hi - you are right, you are in the wrong section. I guess the besf spot is the MEMBER DISCUSSIONS section, and there is a TECH AREA subthread there.

There has been no reliable documentation on her pickups after the paintjob was done on her American Std HSS Strat. It was accepted that the pups are stock but I can never seem to find Fender humbuckers with black bobbins.

Not too sure if this is considered new gear or if MAMI borrowed the guitar from HARU, but MAMI used a Fender American Professional Series Telecaster Deluxe Shawbucker in sonic grey.

MAMI played the Tele during the "quieter" segment of their 感謝祭 set (Chiisana Honoo and Sisters) back in November.

Will update if I find any new info with regards to this Tele in any upcoming media.

Since FSM tour Mami Bogner amp now has a vertical written 令和 "Reiwa" sticker it, there is some small text underneath, but its too small to see even from front row.

(On her Marshall there is a 熊出没注意 "Watch out for Bears" on her amp.)

Update, I manged to bump in to Mami and Timo before FSM Sendai live at the shave iced restaurant, the shop only have one massive table, so me and a friend ended sitting next to them, as we were behind them in line.

So I had to ask about the sticker

Turned out the sticker was actually a "clothing patch", not a sticker, it was released for about 3 days at a store in Omotesando, (update when I get the name of the store when I get it correct). She told us she stuck it on the amp with some sticky tape. ^_^

So the line below it is the store's name/slogan or something, no the Reiwa patch is no longer available.

When I went to go check out acoustic guitars with HARUNA, I tried this out and really liked it. I wanted it for playing and recording at home, so I haven't yet used it live. The comfortable grip when holding the neck and the feeling that resonates in your body when you play it feels great. I was looking for one that had a good bass and core when strumming it hard, and the LL26 ARE sounded really good even without plugging it into an amp. It had such a warm sound. Overall, Yamaha's acoustic guitars have more features in its A series, finer sounds can be made with its preamplifier parts, and they come with tuners. You can also make good, old-fashioned acoustic sounds. Yamaha guitars exceed the concept of acoustic guitars!

I wanted to ask about Mami's set up for some songs from their album 'Honey'
I just can't get the right sound using Native Instruments' Guitar Rig 5, so i would like to know which pedal combination is Mami using on the following songs: (specifically these songs)

Also it would be a really huge help if someone here is familiar w Guitar Rig 5 and does actually know any alternatives in the program that you could suggest to the pedals that Mami actually uses in their songs

As far as I can hear, heavier songs like OVER indeed seems to be using little big muff just like it was mentioned in this thread, but what's the right combination of these efects to achieve that characteristical sound?

Looks like izzy’s right about MAMI’s new Strat.

And the reason why the earlier screencap I took from IG showed the pickups to look like they were single coiled is because, if my observation is right from the screencap below (RINA’s latest vid from SG), MAMI’s strat has zebra humbuckers, instead on the ones with nickel covers.

Confirmed - prolly played their entire 8-song set too. Photo from yesterday's SG gig.

I was right, that's a nice guitar!

I guess someone at Fender Japan did not want to see Mami playing with her Gibson Les Paul anymore...

@izzy Yes we see Mami's recent love of dual humbucker guitar.
Even though Mami ;ppls (and sound) pretty cool with her Les Paul.
I will say the better playability of a modern Strat fits her better especially touring overseas.
Instead of bring multiple guitars to get the job done.

I think it's prolly safe to say that the Fender MiJ Modern Strat in Olympic Pearl is defo included on MAMI's arsenal of guitars, since she has used it in Singapore and the recent Fender Bonenkai.

One thing you can't see in the photos is that the heel is similar to the current Fender American Ultra series strat, except it just has the embossed Fender 'F' on it.

It is a limited run series, until the end of the year. I guess if there are still surplus stock by Jan 2020, you may still get to buy it. Last time I checked, ikebe-gakki still has 2 or 3 pieces left if any MAMI fan is interested.
